Dream Journal

Today’s poem is written in the Shadorma form.

The Shadorma is a Spanish poetic form made up of a stanza of six lines (sestet)  with no set rhyme scheme.  It is a syllabic poem with a meter of 3/5/3/3/7/5. It can have as many stanzas as the poet wishes.

Dream Journal

The notebook
Captures dreams in flight
Eyes still shut
Write them fast
Before memory subsides,
Inspiration flees

This morning
I waited too long
Poured coffee
Checked my phone
The dream evaporated
Hustled out the door

My several journals in progress. The black one is my Dream Journal.
