Right Here, Right Now

Day 19 of OctPoWriMo the prompt is about being present.

Right Here, Right Now
In our home’s corner office
Daylight seeps in through slats
of white blinds, tipped upward
to repel the heat.
A slight breeze ruffles Biden-Harris,
Strong on the lawn, but not much else.
The whir of the ceiling fan on low
A faraway ocean sound like from a conch
Held to my ear.
Days gallop by
I must hold tight the reins.
